Black Screen in Trimmer and Preview Windows with One Specific Footage Type - Movie Studio Zen.
Reply to this Discussion! Login or Sign Up. I saw a lot of discussions and videos on this topic but related to SV Noone of them resolve my problem. The problem is only the preview window.
When I play it, the screen is black and I only hear the audio track. The format of the video file is AVC. This is a fresh installation, and I have never experienced a working preview. I see that its being previewed and everything looks fine, so im speculating that something is muted. Go to Options and in the drop down list, make sure Mute all Video is not selected. Unfortunately the option is not selected. I initially suspected a codec problem, but the thumbnails suggests me it is not. Does this applies to every video you drop in it? If it does, select the video Bus and see if its muted then? If I did it right, I noticed it is not muted and no mute envelope was present. I find it odd that you have a black line like a cursor in the middle of your trimmer.
This suggests that perhaps the preview is showing the trimmer contents which is currently empty. Try opening one of your media in the trimmer and see if the preview windows springs to life. I tried, but nothing changed. However, when I start the preview, I hear the sound of my video and I can see the level bars of the master volume going up and down.
The black line in middle of trimmer was probably a misclick, when I open SV the black line is at the start of it. Thanks to that I realized that the problem is present in trimmer window too. The video was black. I also tried some other format, but the result was the same. Is this in all projects or just this project, or just this video file? That is a really smart suggestion, but I had problems to realize it, so I decided to reinstall the whole program.
It worked… Now I am able to see the preview. I thank you so much for your efforts in helping me and I apologize for having wasted your time with a silly installation problem.
